Rules and Tips
EICA does not provide playing or rental equipment. Whatever is needed should be brought in and of course be taken away.
* The recommended number of participants in each practicing group are as follows:
- Cage – with bowling machine – one hour
* Should not exceed 4, otherwise you risk not getting sufficient batting. Ideal is 3 people.
* If the numbers are higher or the participants wish to bat long, consider 2 hours.
* If you are unclear ask us and we would be happy to assist.
- Cage – no bowling machine – one hour
- If every participant can and is willing to bowl 4-5 people can easily bat in an hour.
- If the bowlers are intent on taking a rest in between spells then batting time would be affected.
- Other factors to be considered are time taken by batsmen in getting ready, time taken in walking away from the crease and for another batsman to it, exchanging or sharing equipment and sharing balls. Bear these facts in mind and then calculate at least 10 minutes of batting for each batsman.
- If you wish to bat longer, the only option is to increase the cage occupancy time to two hours or more.
- Similarly if the numbers are 6+ you should think of renting for two hours or more.
- For safety and other reasons there are additional factors and limits to be kept in mind. For instance EICA would not permit 20 people in one cage. This is unreasonable and unsafe. The number 10 seems to be an absolute maximum for a cage.
- All exceptional cases should be discussed prior to commencing a session.
* EICA will not be held for loss or damages to items, equipment or personal belongings of any kind. Please apply due caution.
* For rentals of two hours or more, a mix of bowling machine and bowling, is possible
Our Approach
Your safety
Safety is first and hence all actions including (but not limited to) playing, waiting, storing equipment, drinking water and carrying equipment within and in/out of the EICA facility, must be carried out, in a manner that protects the safety of self and others. EICA will advise and intervene where necessary. Compliance will be absolutely essential as it may pertain to the city of Farmers Branch’s regulations. Be punctual - both when starting and finishing. It helps your own cause!
